To every tester, developer, and team that chose qAPI\u2014tried it, challenged it, broke it, and helped shape it\u2014this journey would not have been possible without you. 2025 was not just a year of shipping features. It was a year of listening deeply, questioning assumptions, and doubling down on what truly matters: helping teams test APIs with confidence, clarity, and speed\u2014without friction.\u00a0<\/p>

This is our look back at what we built, why we built it, and what the world of real testing taught us along the way.\u00a0<\/p>

It Started\u00a0With\u00a0a Problem We Knew Too Well\u00a0<\/h3>

We\u2019ve\u00a0been testers.\u00a0We\u2019ve\u00a0seen\u00a0the frustration of juggling tools that\u00a0weren\u2019t\u00a0designed for QA teams.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

We\u2019ve\u00a0seen how API testing was often treated as an afterthought \u2014 complex, code-heavy, and disconnected from\u00a0real business\u00a0flows.\u00a0<\/p>

So\u00a0we asked a simple but powerful question:\u00a0What if API testing\u00a0actually worked\u00a0the way testers think?<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>

Not just functional checks.\u00a0Not just scripts.\u00a0But\u00a0end-to-end confidence<\/b>\u00a0\u2014 from functional to process to performance \u2014 all in one place.\u00a0<\/p>

That question became\u00a0qAPI.\u00a0<\/p>

A Strong Start: Reimagining\u00a0qAPI\u00a0from the Inside Out\u00a0<\/h3>

We started the year by asking ourselves a hard question:\u00a0<\/p>

Is\u00a0qAPI\u00a0truly aligned with how teams test APIs today\u2014or how they\u00a0<\/b>need<\/i><\/b>\u00a0to test them tomorrow?<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>

That insight led directly to the\u00a0qAPI\u00a0rebrand and UI refresh<\/b>.\u00a0We had decided then that the\u00a0goal\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0just to improve UI\/UX.\u00a0\u00a0It was\u00a0go\u00a0a step ahead\u00a0and make\u00a0an easy to use and seamless.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

To answer that we\u00a0began with one of the largest internal, cross-functional gatherings\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0ever had. Engineering, product, sales, marketing, and customer teams came together with one shared goal:\u00a0to deeply understand how\u00a0qAPI\u00a0fits into real testing workflows \u2014 and how it could do even more.<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>

It was\u00a0a session to show how the new platform works end-to-end, how no-code automation\u00a0can remove\u00a0barriers for testers, how developers can move faster without sacrificing quality, and how organizations can\u00a0eliminate\u00a0manual overhead without losing control.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

We answered several questions, gave a live demo,\u00a0and helped our teams understand and get used to the\u00a0qAPI\u00a0application. With this,\u00a0we got the push\u00a0we needed as the word spread internally and\u00a0to other folks in the testing\u00a0space.<\/p>

It worked in our favour because-<\/p>

We\u00a0Listened\u00a0Closely: What the Market Needs<\/h2>

As teams\u00a0globally\u00a0started running their\u00a0API tests\u00a0with\u00a0qAPI,\u00a0we saw\u00a0a\u00a0different kind of problem\u00a0that they faced.<\/p>

Tests existed, but teams\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0always trust them. Failures were sometimes caused by timing issues, shared environments, unstable data, or inconsistent API responses rather than real regressions.<\/p>

This created a\u00a0problematic\u00a0situation\u00a0for\u00a0teams, as they either ignored failures or spent too much time trying to\u00a0determine\u00a0whether a test was lying.\u00a0At this stage, we realized\u00a0we needed to solve this so teams could gain\u00a0predictability and structure<\/b>.<\/p>

This is where\u00a0our development team\u00a0shifted focus toward improving how teams manage environments,\u00a0validate\u00a0responses, and\u00a0maintain\u00a0consistency across APIs.\u00a0So that APIs can have clear response structures, better handling of test data, and cleaner separation between environments, which\u00a0helped reduce noise and make failures meaningful again.<\/p>

Around this time, we also released the\u00a0Beautify feature<\/b>\u00a0in\u00a0qAPI. It may seem small, but it addressed a real pain:\u00a0the code developers write is mostly\u00a0messy\/hard to read.\u00a0Whether\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0testing APIs or preparing to deploy,\u00a0beautify\u00a0ensures your code is\u00a0always\u00a0clean and\u00a0structured.<\/p>

Reliability, Scale, and the Pressure to Move Faster<\/h2>

In the next few months\u00a0we saw\u00a0a growing\u00a0concern around reliability, users asking questions like:\u00a0\u201cThis\u00a0API works but how to check it\u2019s limitations?\u201d\u00a0\u201cWill\u00a0the API be stable\u00a0and\u00a0work under real traffic?\u201d<\/p>

When we interacted with testers and other users,\u00a0they\u00a0told us<\/p>

That they wanted a way to\u00a0flood\u00a0the service with\u00a0multiple requests and\u00a0test it\u00a0to\u00a0identify\u00a0any\u00a0lapse\u00a0in performance under load.\u00a0But\u00a0because current\u00a0load testing\u00a0methods\u00a0felt disconnected\u2014heavy tools, separate workflows, and long setup times.\u00a0Our teams decided to solve this by creating a pay-as-you-go load testing feature update\u00a0Virtual User Balance (VUB)<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>

The goal was never to replace performance engineering. It was to close the gap between correctness and scale\u2014so teams could catch performance issues\u00a0before they reached production<\/b>.<\/p>

We gave away free 500 virtual users no questions asked just\u00a0to get the ball rolling!<\/p>

Next, we also\u00a0hosted\u00a0a\u00a0webinar\u00a0to address the misconceptions holding teams back. In our\u00a0session,\u202f\u201cDebunking the Myths of API Testing,\u201d<\/b>\u202fwe\u00a0removed\u00a0the confusion surrounding API quality\u2014challenging the persistent ideas that it is too complex, requires heavy coding, or is secondary to UI testing. By breaking down these barriers, we\u00a0demonstrated\u00a0how\u00a0qAPI\u00a0,\u00a0an end-to-end API testing\u00a0tool\u00a0can\u00a0make API testing accessible and essential for early bug detection, empowering teams to shift left with confidence.<\/p>

At\u00a0API World (September 3\u20135)<\/b>,\u00a0APIdays\u00a0London (September 22\u201325)<\/b>,\u00a0StarWest\u00a0(September 23\u201325)<\/b>, and\u00a0APIdays\u00a0India (October 8\u20139)<\/b>\u00a0We had some interesting\u00a0conversations\u00a0with\u00a0engineering leaders\u00a0who\u00a0described their\u00a0problems.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

We used\u00a0those\u00a0problem statements\u00a0to\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0the power of\u00a0qAPI. By showing attendees how they can execute end-to-end tests\u2014seamlessly transitioning from functional, process\u00a0to performance load within a single interface\u2014we proved that you\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0need a complex, disjointed toolchain to\u00a0build scalable APIs.\u00a0<\/p>

Raoul Kumar took the stage twice\u2014first with a hands-on workshop on using agentic orchestration to test APIs, and later with a keynote that explored the future of API testing through a no-code, cloud-first lens.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

At\u00a0APIdays\u00a0India, Ameet Deshpande gave a talk that really resonated with the crowd. He explained why old ways of testing just\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0keep up with today\u2019s complex, AI-powered world.\u00a0He\u00a0stated\u00a0that we need smarter, AI-led tools to manage the workload.\u00a0The next day, Ameet hosted a\u00a0workshop\u00a0along\u00a0with Punit Gupta,\u00a0where\u00a0attendees saw\u00a0qAPI\u00a0in\u00a0action. They learned how using AI “agents” to run tests can help them check much more of their software and ship it faster.\u00a0<\/p>

These conversations directly influenced our push toward\u00a0shared workspaces in\u00a0qAPI<\/b>,<\/a>\u00a0enabling teams to collaborate, manage environments, and scale testing together \u2014 rather than\u00a0working in\u00a0disconnected groups.\u00a0<\/p>

With this update teams can now easily view and make changes in dedicated environments and the other involved teammates can directly access the updated APIs without having to check with each other and get the updated dataset.\u00a0<\/p>

Our\u00a0team spent two energizing days connecting with developers, QA leaders, and digital architects who are building API-first systems for one of the world\u2019s fastest-growing digital economies. Ameet Deshpande\u2019s talk on why API testing needs to change struck a strong chord, highlighting how traditional QA struggles in AI-driven, highly connected ecosystems, and why agentic orchestration and multimodal testing are becoming essential.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

That thinking came to life during a packed, hands-on workshop with Ameet and Punit Gupta, where attendees saw firsthand how directing AI agents can dramatically expand API test coverage and accelerate delivery.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

We partnered\u00a0with India\u2019s largest student-run hackathon reminded us why accessibility matters. Students embraced API testing as an enabler \u2014 validating ideas faster and building with confidence from day one.\u00a0<\/p>

Being surrounded by thousands of passionate student builders, innovators, and problem-solvers was a powerful reminder of why quality and experimentation matter from day one.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Through hands-on workshops led by Punit Gupta and engaging conversations at our booth, we introduced\u202fqAPI\u202fas a practical, developer-friendly way to test and\u202fvalidate\u202fprototypes faster without slowing creativity. What stood out most was the curiosity and confidence with which students approached API testing, asking thoughtful\u202fquestions\u202fand\u202fimmediately\u202fapplying what they learned to their ideas.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>

Developers already use\u00a0cURL\u00a0to debug APIs. Turning that into an automated test used to mean manual rework. With Import via\u00a0cURL, a working command becomes a test in seconds\u2014closing the gap between manual checks and automation.\u00a0<\/p>

Expanded Code Snippets<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>

By adding C# (HttpClient) and\u00a0cURL\u00a0snippets, testers and developers can now share executable logic\u2014not screenshots or assumptions. Testing feeds development instead of running parallel to it.\u00a0<\/p>

AI Summaries<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>

As workflows grow complex, understanding\u00a0why<\/i>\u00a0a test exists becomes harder than running it. AI Summaries make tests readable, explainable, and safer to\u00a0maintain\u2014especially during onboarding and incident reviews.\u00a0<\/p>
